I've been watching a lot of daytime tv recently especially those shows on the history channel. I can't help but make a few connections, insights as such on the programs. Take for instance American Pickers. They go to some of the most cluttered places one would ever want to go to. They call it a life style but on any other show they would call it hording. They find things that they call rusty gold but the rest of us would call junk. I am always amazed at the price they are able to get for the stuff and how much it shows that it's worth. This always makes me think of my mother who would say that the monetary value of your stuff is only in what someone else is willing to pay for it.
Then there is Pawn Stars where there just happens to be great stuff coming in their door every day. Someone once told me that the producers search for the items to be shown on the show, contact the owners, and sends them or at least their items to Las Vegas to be on the show. Uhm, wonder what of interest I have that can be on the show......
Speaking of Las Vegas, my sons want to go there for hubby's and mine 30th wedding anniversary this June. We've talked about going on a cruise to celebrate with the whole family but when we check into the nicer cruise lines, it's all to places we don't want to go
My niece and nephew are in the process of adopting a baby girl from Haiti. He's been there a couple of times doing missionary work and has been spirituality moved to go forward with this. They don't have the money to do this but they are doing MAJOR fun raisers to get the funds. I am always amazed at people who are moved to do this and I have donated to their cause. May God bless them and I wish them luck.
The New Year is just a day away and I am looking forward to it. I have my bunko group coming to my house right off the bat and I have many things I need to do for the preparations. It is wonderful to have a group of friends that you see at least once a month to share friendship with, a meal, and to chat,. The game is just incidental. And oh am I ready for some good old girl time! Too many manly things happening around here including non stop football. Guess I should get off here and get busy.........

15 Nice Things to Say:
Let's not talk about hoarding, okay? With a lifetime of stuff stacked all around me, I can't say a word.
I see Vegas as a place for gambling. Since getting out of bed each day is a gamble, I've never wanted particularly wanted to go there. I'll take my chances right here, it's cheaper.
Happy, Happy New Year!
Sorry about that "wanted/wanted" typo... and I swear I haven't been drinking!
Our 30th is next Aug. and I've been trying to come up with someplace special to go. My grandson will be moving to Hawaii with his military dad next summer, but that's a heck of a long trip! And not sure how I feel about flying anymore after 9-11.
Happy New Year, Bonnie!
Enjoy your girl time ... and have a Happy New Year x
Hey Lady...I wish your niece and nephew the best of luck in adopting their baby. I have a friend who has adopted two from Haiti and it's been a good experience for him....
Have a blessed new year; one more day-
happy new year!
I am a bit addicted to American Pickers too. I can also get sucked into the thousand Storage Wars and Top Chef shows. I need an intervention.
Wishing you and your family a happy new year.

Look at all the shows I'm missing by having the basic of all basic cable plans! I think Pawn Stars is one of the best names for a show I've ever heard!
I don't gamble. Hate it in fact. However there is so much more to do than just gamble there. You can do a spa time. (I did that) Had massage and pedicure and then sat by the pool. I saw shows of people I really like. I ate at some fine resteraunts (Emeril Lagasse's was one of the best meals I have ever had) I didn't spend a dime in a casino - hubby enjoyed that while I went to the spa. Trust me if for no other reason to people watch it's fun.
Hi Bonnie, Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. How is that precious baby????
I've been to Vegas -and hated it. I'm not much into glitz and gambling --so I'd rather go somewhere where nature is gorgeous --like the Grand Canyon.
Congrats to your niece and nephew.. Hope they can get enough money to adopt a baby.
Happy New Year.
Hugs,
Betsy
Well if you are looking somewhere tropical you can visit Sri Lanka:)

I went to Vegas in September for a wedding. While it was not somewhere I would particularly choose to go...I had a great time. We don't gamble however it was interesting to just walk through the casinos, some of the nicer ones are like a city unto themselves. I loved the fountains and the awesome conservatory at The Bellagio. My husband and I rented a car and visited Red Rock Canyon and The Hoover Dam. I am sure whatever you decide to do will be fun!
Wow 30 years!! Exciting :-) A Hatian neice!! Exciting!! You have a lot for us to read about coming up!! congrats!!
I like these shows alos. I hope you have a wonderful new year.
So did you come up with something to do for your anniversary?
